Preventative Care

At AVID Dental we are passionate about preventative dentistry, because we know that good oral health can help lead to a healthy lifestyle.

How will preventative dentistry help me?

Our focus is on providing the very best preventative dental care which comprises of oral hygiene care appointments, education, motivation and dietary advice. Our friendly dental team love educating patients and we want to ensure you receive all the information you need to maintain a healthy smile helping to facilitate effective home-care by you. Your regular dental care visits include oral cancer screenings which is a non-invasive examination designed to detect any small changes to the tissues inside your mouth. The aim of preventive dentistry is to help you improve and maintain your long-term oral health through working with your dental team. This approach means that where possible, more invasive treatment, for example, fillings, is kept to a minimum.

How can preventative dental care help my general health?

Clinical research has shown a link between gum disease, a common infection affecting the gums, and numerous health problems. These include diabetes, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis and some cancers. When you come to see us, we will go through a detailed medical health questionnaire with you, so we can provide the most appropriate dental care for you. By taking a holistic approach towards your dental care, we hope to protect your smile and your overall health.
