Vitamin E For The Skin

Vitamin E for Healthy Looking Skin

Vitamin E s a fat-soluble antioxidant that is essential for the maintenance of healthy skin.  We are exposed to oxidative stresses from sunlight, air pollution, foods and drinks we consume like alcohol, cigarette smoking, sugar consumption.  The free radicals which are produced contribute to premature ageing and damage to the skin.

Antioxidants are vital in skin care to help neutralise these free radicals and reduce the damaging effects they have on our skin.

Vitamin E conditions, protects and fights free radicals while also encouraging the skin to retain its natural moisturisers helping to soothe dry skin.

Vitamin E also absorbs the energy from ultraviolet (UV) light. Thus, it plays important roles in photoprotection, preventing UV-induced free radical damage to the skin. Vitamin E may also have related anti-inflammatory roles in the skin.

Vitamin E can be found in anti-ageing products and in sun protectors to bolster the skin’s UV defense.

If you need help to determine which product will work best for your skin, ask your facial aesthetics practitioner who will provide a skin consultation to help ascertain the best product for you.
